Crime Solvers Reinvented and Ready to Serve

Board Members and Community Help Wanted

Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is alive and becoming a player again.  During the last few years Crime Solvers had suffered a loss of volunteer personnel and contributions.  As an all volunteer organization and dependent upon contributions, with no government funding, we had become a shadow.  The new 2008-2009 board made the decision to either make it work or put it to bed.

Crime Solvers are back in operation and have new leadership and have added new members, updated by laws, developed new partners in the business community and with other police agencies.  In addition to the Montgomery County Police we have been meeting with the Chevy Chase Village, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Takoma Park police departments.   But this is only part of the reinvention.  You will see Crime Solvers at community events, schools, and city and county hearings, anywhere we can get the word out – Crime doesn’t pay, but we do!

Crime Solvers was established in 1978 as the first such organization in Washington, DC metro area.  Crime Solvers just celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008.  Crime Solvers has been successful in helping the police solve felony cases and recover thousands of dollars in stolen property.  The Crime Solvers Board of Directors is comprised of concerned citizens who oversee the operation of the program.

Crime Solvers knows that sometimes police don’t get the information from the community because some people that have it are afraid of retaliation or don’t want to get involved with the police and the courts.  Members of the community that have information about a crime, and wish to remain anonymous can call the Crime Solvers TIPS Line at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers by law can pay up to $1,000 for a tip.

Crime Solvers are an independent non-profit community organization funded by private donations of money, goods or services from members of the public, including individuals, corporations, clubs, associations, retailers, and other organization.  All contributions are deductible.

Crime Solvers are looking for new board members with connections in the community and we are in need of sponsors and donations from the public and businesses.  You can help your community by contributing your time, services or money.  Send your contribution to:
